Event icon Ursula Masson Memorial Lecture Open

Event Date: March 9, 2009 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Glamorgan Business Centre

The event is presented by Professor Deirdre Beddoe

Dr Ursula Masson (above picture) was a much loved and highly esteemed senior lecturer in History at Glamorgan. She was also instrumental in founding Archif Menywod Cymru/ Welsh Women’s Archive and its roadshows: both initiatives were initially Ursula’s conceptions and she chaired the Archive.

It is fitting therefore, that this Memorial Lecture in her honour, the first in an annual series, should be given by the President of the Archive, Professor Deirdre Beddoe. Professor Beddoe was recently awarded the 2008 Western Mail Val Feld Award for an outstanding contribution to the promotion of the role of women in Welsh life.

The lecture will be held at 6.00 pm in the Glamorgan Business Centre on Monday 9th March 2009, and is open to the general public as well as members of the University and the Welsh Women’s Archive.

Refreshments will be served from 5.30 pm, and following the lecture the audience will be welcomed to a buffet in the Centre.
