The conference will bring together scholars and surviving participants in some of the events discussed. They will address the impact that the Cold War had on Welsh politics and culture from the 1940s to the 1980s.

200 pupils visit Glamorgan for history schools conference
200 pupils visited Glamorgan on 16th September for the History Division’s “Succeeding at A-Level” Conference. They came from 12 schools, some local, others in Cardiff, Newport, Brecon and West Wales. WJEC examiner Caryl James started the event by addressing the group on how to approach A-Level project work and Chris Evans spoke about why they should consider studying history at university.

Ursula Masson Memorial Lecture
Event Date: March 9, 2009 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.Professor Deirdre Beddoe will give the first Ursula Masson Memorial Lecture at 6.00 pm on Monday 9th March in the Glamorgan Business Centre. The topic of the lecture is ‘Women and Change in Twentieth-Century Wales’, and it will be the first of an annual series of lectures to be held on or around International Women’s Day in memory of Dr Ursula Masson (1945–2008).
